The elegant gates that open to the Brownstone Mecca could be pulled from an Austen novel and are “very grand and very sophisticated”, says Sandy Saul, President of Design Lines in Greenwood Village.  Saul and Jodi Taskin, Design Director for Design Lines, designed the NorthCreek Brownstone model residence and created interior spaces that feel like regal hotel suites as well as a down-to-earth home with an urban edge.

Design Lines worked closely with all disciplines to create a union between interior and exterior spaces. In route to the front doors, guest traverse across a 30-foot wide, single butterfly wing set in colored, glass-seeded concrete. The patented Lithocrete paving system provided a colorful and effective solution to achieve the custom design pattern. Once inside the building, guests can discover the butterfly wing mirrored, in custom-patterned, interior finishes.

Because of the location and the age of the intended users, Design Lines adopted a “1950’s modern” approach that included photographs of Frank Sinatra and his famous Rat Pack, recalling the glory days of Palm Springs when the Sinatra crowd made frequent visits. Designers applied a muted color palette of creams, sage, natural maple and slate blue to create clean lines and a sophisticated look.
